How to Install RPMForge Repository on CentOS and RHEL System

RPMForge provides lots of packages for CentOS and RHEL systems. RPMForge is a collaborating a Dog and other packages. But now RPMForge repository has been dis-continued. Using this article you can installed this repository on your system.

In this article I will provide you alternate way  to install RPMForge repository on CentOS and RHEL system.

Install RPMForge Repository

1. Download the latest rpmforge-release rpm from

http://ftp.tu-chemnitz.de/pub/linux/dag/redhat/el6/en/i386/rpmforge/RPMS/

2. Install rpmforge-release rpm:

# rpm -Uvh rpmforge-release*rpm

For Example:

# wget http://ftp.tu-chemnitz.de/pub/linux/dag/redhat/el6/en/x86_64/rpmforge/RPM                                                     S/rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1.el6.rf.x86_64.rpm
--2017-11-23 22:51:09--  http://ftp.tu-chemnitz.de/pub/linux/dag/redhat/el6/en/x86_64/rpmforge/R                                                     PMS/rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1.el6.rf.x86_64.rpm
